This thread is bringing back all the warm memories I have of playing in that server. The connections people made really do stand the test of time.

I prefer Red because my pink hat is complimentary with the red jacket when I play Soldier. I also like playing on Defense more than Offense, though if I'm not playing Soldier and the gametype is something like 5CP where there is no Offense/Defense, I don't really care which team I'm on.

Your profile name is just to differentiate your profiles, similar to save files in other games. In Multiplayer Options you should find a username you can add brackets to, which is the name other players will see in multiplayer servers. You do need a patch, but I don't remember how that works.
